Vaccines against Infectious Diseases

A quarter of all deaths worldwide are caused by infectious diseases, particularly among children under the age of five. If proper systems could be put in place to guarantee that all children, regardless of geographic location or economic position, have access to basic immunisations, the burden of infectious diseases may be significantly reduced. A range of illnesses for which there are no feasible or available efficient preventive intervention measures should also have new, safe vaccinations produced against them. To guarantee that these new or enhanced vaccines are completely developed and made available to the people in need as soon as possible, the public, commercial, and philanthropic sectors must work together.
