A different area of study in the health sciences called pharmacology is commonly mistaken with pharmacy. Pharmacology is the study of how a drug interacts with the body and how a biological system is affected by it. Information about a drug's biological effects, chemical make-up, and therapeutic applications are all included in drug studies. Clinical pharmacology includes cardiac pharmacology and cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, neurodegenerative disorders, pharmacological oncology, Parkinson's disease, and disorders of the circadian rhythm, as well as safety pharmacology, toxicology, and pharmacogenetics. Molecular and cellular pharmacology includes drug-receptor interactions, drug-enzyme interactions, antibiotic pharmacology, immune responses, Parkinson's disease, and circadian rhythm disorders.
